Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Initiative (APPI) located at Passaic High School assists youth in reducing the risk of pregnancy and promoting healthy relationships. The focus on positive, healthy relationships is the cornerstone of this program. Teens explore their family, peer and partner relationships with the APPI Coordinator while working on the specific goals of delaying sexual activity, preventing pregnancy and making healthy relationship choices. The experienced MHCP staff uses individual counseling, group activities and collaboration with School Nurses and Health teachers to achieve these goals. With full awareness of pregnancy prevention and deliberate choices, students have a much better chance of making strides in their academic and life achievements. Small steps everyday…let’s get started!
