WHAT IS EVALUATION?

A Psychiatric Evaluation is performed by a medical doctor who specializes in psychiatry. A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment done for the purpose of diagnosing emotional, behavioral or developmental conditions or disorders. An evaluation explores many aspects and ensures that an accurate diagnosis is made and that individuals receive treatment that is effective and tailored for their specific needs.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION?

The doctor will talk to you about how you are feeling and how your feelings/behaviors are affecting your daily life. The doctor may ask you a series of questions, take a detailed medical and family history, and ask you when and how long you have been experiencing your symptoms. The doctor may order some additional testing if necessary, based on his or her evaluation. Once your evaluation is complete, the doctor will explain your diagnosis and make recommendations for your treatment.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES

As part of your evaluation, the doctor may recommend medication. Medication can be very helpful in reducing or controlling your symptoms, so your daily routines are more easily managed. As part of your treatment, you will need to meet with the doctor regularly to discuss how you are feeling on the medicine. Our doctors will work closely with you to ensure that you achieve the best possible results and help you live a healthier, more balanced life.
